JULY!

Around here, we live for July.  Hands down, it's the best month of the year.  Last July was an awful month.  An awful, terrible, grueling, horrific month.  So far, despite Audrey being sick this year, this July is going much better, and we are ready for a quiet little summer.  I am determined that this July, every single day we are going to do something to celebrate.   This month just goes too darn fast.

So here is what we have been up to so far this month-

July 1- I had a lovely dinner out with Em and Norrie, and then watched a movie in my neighbor's backyard, where I was nearly carried away by giant mosquitoes.  It was still a really fun night.

July 2- Went for a nice long walk with the dog, again braving the mosquitoes and the humidity, which made it feel like a walk through a swamp in Florida.

July 3- went swimming at my aunt Carole's after Olivia's last day of third grade.  Then Dan and I drove up to Logan to see their fire works show and hear Glenn Beck.  Brent Carpenter was the grand marshall, there was a beautiful orchestra, and fantastic fireworks.

Good bye Third Grade, hello fourth grader!

July 4- After a really late night, we dragged ourselves out of bed and headed for the Layton 4th of July parade.  Audrey was feeling better than she has in days, we got us a drink from Burger Stop and sat in the shade watching the cops on motorcycles, the bagpipes bands, and everything else, AND got a free Popsicle, courtesy of Layton City and Smiths. Tonight we are headed to the Clearfield Fireworks. Dan has to work all day, but at least they are having fireworks at the game tonight.  We also bought some fireworks to shoot off tonight at home.  For the rest of the afternoon, we are sitting around, lazy, in our semi cool house and watching movies.  Maybe we will hit up the snow cone shack before heading out.  Love the 4th of July.

So nice to see that smile!  It's been a while.

I don't know, I just have a thing for men in kilts.

This cute kid adopted Olivia as his new best friend at the parade.  They were working as a team gathering candy and dividing it up between them.  They tried to make a date to meet at the fireworks, but since he didn't know where the fireworks were, I'd say the chances of that happening are slim to none.  That's okay though, we have other friends to watch fireworks with.

More of our Julyfest to come.
